About Us:

On September 1, 2019, community leaders from Midland and Odessa merged to become Midessa Community Alliance Coalition (MCAC). MCAC represents a collaboration of diverse citizens forming an alliance focused on our community’s youth. Our Goal is to change social norms and policies to reduce the incidence and impact of alcohol, nicotine and the products, marijuana, and prescription misuse.

Who Participates In The Community Coalitions and When Does the Coalition Meet:

People involved in the coalitions share one basic-trait-THEY ARE DETERMINED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! If you are committed to the idea of improving our community, reducing drug use in our youth, and ensuring better lives for us all, please consider becoming part of the MCAC.

Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m.

Coalition accomplishments…

SHO UPDATE:

July 25, 2022, makes 5 years our Social Host Accountability Ordinance has been in effect in the City of Odessa and this year we are able to update our SHO to include Party buses, limousines, and other motor vehicles. This is a huge accomplishment for MCAC in the state of Texas being the first city ever to include this in the Ordinance.

NARCAN:

Proud to be able to provide our local law enforcment and first responders with NARCAN so they can continue to serve our community in need. Opioid overdoeses are on the rise in our community, and we want to continue to keep our communities safe as possible.
