Impact Youth Programs

Youth Prevention program empowers youth, families, and communities to make healthy choices by strengthening protective factors that build knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes. Through community education, resources, and evidence-based curricula, we prevent substance misuse and equip students with essential life skills for personal and academic success.

SFP is a component of the Youth Prevention program, offered for youth who are at-risk, bringing parents and youth together for skills training that strengthens family relationships, enhances parenting strategies, and promotes pro-social behaviors. It is proven to reduce youth substance use, depression, and delinquency. This program equips families with effective communication, conflict resolution, and alcohol and drug refusal skills.
Serving 8 counties.

Universal vs. Indicated

Universal prevention programs provide universal services utilizing associated strategies to broad populations without consideration of individual differences in risk for substance use and misuse. Universal prevention strategies take the broadest approach and are designed to reach entire groups or populations, e.g. schools, workplaces, whole communities.

Indicated programs provide individualized services related to substance use and misuse that address specific risk conditions. Indicated prevention strategies target individuals due to initiative behaviors and/or related risk factors that place the individual at an elevated risk for substance use and misuse.

The Impact Youth Programs implement a universal evidenced-based curriculum “Too Good For Drugs” and an indicated “Community Based Support Group (CBSG) Youth Connection” curriculum in Midland and Ector Counties.
